Setting > tracking > Time is marked as Away when
Try to set this threshold higher.

OR add an absorb rule, that can be consumed by 'Rendering' auto-tag only:
Computer Usage: Away -- absorb by 'Selected': Rendering

That way any away time preceded and followed by 'Rendering' will also be marked as Rendering.

Personally I take care of this by auto-tagging with gcal, i.e. if gcal contains 'Render', you can tag the time however you wish, even if you are away.

Seems like if you had one tag for (Proof/Server/Support/Wireframes) specific activities you could get the total you want by adding that tag to the search or doing a depth-N, and only seeing those results.

When you select the Tags timeline, you can see any overlapping tags. You can select this pair of tags to highlight the overlap for you - delete and reassign the correct tag.

But agree - when we highlight a region and add a tag, if there is a conflict we should be asked:
    Fill only untagged time
    Ignore existing tags
    Overwrite existing tags

    Just like merging auto-tags

This would also let you select and reassign a time to something completely different, without having to delete - reselect - and add tag.

Also especially useful if you want to add an 'append' tag to a region with more than 1 eligible tag.

I don't think this should be the job of manic time (although it's a great idea). You are better off using the tool mentioned above. That way you can run it when ever its suitable.

There will be too many cases where this won't work as intended, at least without a lot of configuration. I use my 'work' PC to watch netflix, so I'd need a filter for auto-tags/applications eligible for breaks.

Even so, there are instances where I'm using a web browser intermittently, while drawing a mockup with pen/paper, only looking up things once every few minutes. Manic time doesn't notice this since my autofill=300.

Couldn't you use your calendar for future planning? Gcal gives reminders.
